Common Issues

## Why introductions go unpaid. 

These are the reasons agency owners give for why the introductions they already make have never earned them anything.

### You Field Requests You Cannot Serve

A design client asks who does their PPC. A past customer wants a migration quote. You either hand the work to someone who will be pitching them next year, or you let the request die.

### Reselling Is More Than You Want

White-labelling pays more, but it puts scoping, reporting and client questions back on your plate. Not every introduction is worth a delivery relationship.

### The Fee Gets Agreed Afterwards

Most informal arrangements settle the number once the deal has already closed, which is the point at which you have the least leverage and are easiest to forget.

### A Bad Handoff Costs You The Client

Send someone to a vendor who underdelivers and the client holds you responsible for the introduction, not the vendor for the work.

20% of everything the client spends in their first twelve months, counted from the day they sign. The same rate on every service line, settled before the deal rather than after it.

Wording for the email or the Slack message if you would rather not write it, and a landing page to point people at if you would rather not make the intro yourself.

### Payout On A Named Schedule

Direct deposit, Wise or PayPal, starting the day the client pays their first invoice. Our minimum fixed-fee project is $2,500, so most commissions start around $500.

### Delivery That Protects You

A written scope and senior US staff on every client you send. A weak handoff would cost you the original relationship, so we do not run them that way.
