# Hotel Website Design

Hotel web design that wins the booking on your own site instead of an OTA's.

You are paying commission on guests who already knew your name. It happens because the travel site answers dates, rates and room type faster than yours does. We shorten your route to the availability check, then show you how much of your business comes direct rather than through an OTA.

• Why Suff Digital

## Hotel website design built around more direct bookings.

A hotel site works when guests can check availability, compare rooms and understand the benefit of booking direct without leaving your site. We build that path, connect the booking engine and measure direct reservations after launch.

## What Our Hotel Website Design Services Include

Six pieces of work, all pointed at one result: a guest who checks your availability before anyone else's.

(06)

### • Room and rate pages that answer the real question

Every room type, what the rate includes and the cancellation terms, laid out so a guest compares rooms without opening two tabs.

### • Photography that stays sharp and still loads fast

The shoot you paid for used at the size each screen actually needs, so a suite never turns up as a soft crop on the page that sells it.

### • Booking engine connection

We style the reservation engine to match the site and reduce the steps in front of it, so the booking path feels like one consistent experience.

### • Dining and bar pages that take their own bookings

Menus that read on a phone, chef and seasonal content, and table reservations through OpenTable, Resy or whatever the outlet runs on.

### • Meetings, weddings and group enquiries

Capacity charts, floor plans and an enquiry form that reaches your sales team with dates and headcount attached, not a contact page.

### • Languages and currencies for your top markets

Translated content for the markets you sell into, with local currency showing and dates written the way that market reads.

• Hospitality web design problems

## Why guests finish the booking on an OTA instead of your site

These come up on almost every property site we review.

Diagnose my site •

01

### Every OTA stay arrives with commission attached

Reservations your own site could have taken get booked through Booking.com or Expedia. That is rarely preference. Their booking path is shorter than yours. Some AI search tools send guests there too: Perplexity links to Booking.com or an Expedia Group site in 77.1% of its hotel answers, against 1.6% for Google AI Mode (Perplexity Hotel Answers study (https://www.suffdigital.com/resources/data-studies/ai-hotel-answers-booking-sites)).

02

### Nothing on the site says why booking direct is better

Rate parity means the price usually matches, so the reason to book direct has to be something else: late checkout, parking, breakfast, an upgrade. If it is not next to the rate, it may as well not exist.

03

### Booking engines that feel separate from the hotel site

The reservation step opens in a new tab, in different type and colors. Guests hesitate at the moment they had decided, and hesitation there costs the whole stay.

04

### Great photography, undersold by the website

The site compresses images, crops them wrong and serves them slowly. Guests judge a property on its pictures, so the photography has to load fast and still look like the room.

05

### Group and wedding enquiries have nowhere to land

Function space is often the highest-margin thing a property sells, and the site gives it a paragraph and a contact form. The planner comparing venues moves on.

06

### Booking from a phone takes too many taps

Late deciders book from a taxi or a departure lounge. If dates, room comparison and payment all need pinching and zooming, they open an app.

• Our hotel web design process

## Our Hotel Website Design Process

(06)

Phase 01

### Walk the property and read the channel mix

We spend time with the property, in person or with the team that knows it best, then look at where your reservations come from and who stays.

Phase 02

### Mapping how a guest gets from browsing to booked

We write down every stage between someone thinking about a city and holding a confirmation, and name the question each one has to answer.

Phase 03

### Designing the room and rate pages first

Rooms and rates are where the decision gets made, so they come before the homepage. Seasonal variants are built in for your team to swap.

Phase 04

### Connecting the booking engine and the channel manager

A responsive build with the reservation engine wired in, and your channel manager and CRM talking to the site so rates agree everywhere.

Phase 05

### Writing and translating the room, dining and event copy

Content written once and translated properly rather than run through a plugin. Seasonal and event pages get templates your team can publish without us.

Phase 06

### Going live and watching the direct share for thirty days

We launch tracking direct against OTA reservations, conversion by language and upsell take-up, then spend the first month acting on them.

Get started •

• The demand you capture

### The guest comparing you with an OTA is choosing on effort, not loyalty.

Online travel agency commissions typically run 15% to 30% of the total reservation cost. Guests use a travel site because it answers availability, rate and room type quickly. Hotel website design that buries that answer behind menus loses the booking. Winning direct is mostly about making your own route the shortest one.

•

Availability and rate answered before anyone commits

•

Every room type and rate you sell, not an OTA's subset

•

The step into the booking engine designed, not inherited

• What you keep

### A direct booking is a guest you can reach again.

A reservation through an OTA gives you a stay. One taken on your own site gives you the guest's details, their preferences and the right to invite them back without paying for the introduction twice. That compounds in a way one commission saving cannot.

•

Guest details captured by you, not an intermediary

•

Packages, upgrades and add-ons you control

•

Groups and events quoted from your own enquiry form

> “I can't say enough good things about Matt Suffoletto and the team at Suff Digital. I've worked with Matt for years, and his knowledge, expertise, and professionalism are second to none. He truly understands SEO, website management, and digital marketing at a level that delivers real results. Matt helped me get my DJ business ranked on the first page and even the number one spot on Google in an industry with thousands of competing DJs. Those results had a tremendous impact on my business. Most recently, on Memorial Day, my website came under attack from internet hackers. I sent Matt an email expecting a delayed response because of the holiday, but he replied almost immediately, identified the problem, took action, and resolved the issue before it could cause further damage. If you're looking for a digital marketing and web services company that delivers results and stands behind its clients, I highly recommend Suff Digital.”

Scott KingBusiness Owner

> “Matt and Suff Digital were great to work with. We gave them a high level overview of what we wanted to create and they came back with a full design we were able to tailor. Easy to work with and very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend.”

## Hotel Website Design Deliverables

Scope is written down and priced before anything starts. A hotel website design project hands over in three stages, and this is what sits in each.

Month One

Strategy & Design

✓ Guest journey map — Every stage between browsing a destination and holding a confirmation, with the question each one answers.

✓ Designs built around your own photography — Full-bleed layouts with seasonal variants, and an availability check reachable from the first screen.

✓ The market list, with reasons — Which markets earn a full translated version, which need only the booking route, and the currency each uses.

Months 2-3

Development

✓ A booking engine matched to the site — Inline date selection, room comparison, package upsells and a checkout that works one-handed.

✓ Translated versions of the pages that sell — Each priority language with a switcher, local currency and copy adapted rather than machine translated.

✓ Dining, spa and function pages — Outlet, treatment and event-space pages that take enquiries through the platforms you run on.

Ongoing

Launch & Revenue

✓ Direct reservations measured against OTA — Revenue by source, plus the drop-off at each step between first screen and confirmed booking.

✓ Found in hotel search and on maps — Hotel structured data, free booking links and Google Business Profile set up for the property and outlets.

✓ The first month, written up — Direct share, conversion by language, upsell take-up, and the changes made because of them.

• Hotel web design comparison

## Common Questions

A hotel website is the property's own booking channel. It shows every room type and rate you sell rather than the subset an OTA loaded, it sells the extras that make a stay worth more than a bed, and it takes the booking without a commission.

The other two are how much photography and copy we produce rather than receive, and whether function space needs its own section. We scope all four and fix the quote in writing before anything starts."
