Copy stat ## Summary A clothing brand selling to teenagers and people in their twenties runs its store on Shopify. In Shopify's app store it finds the Snapchat app, connects its ad account and turns on tracking in a few clicks. Nearly every website that measures Snapchat ads has done exactly that. The Snap Pixel is a snippet of code from Snap, Snapchat's parent company, that reports visits and purchases from Snapchat ads back to the platform, so an advertiser can see which ads sell and build audiences from its own visitors. Counting where it is installed shows who advertises on Snapchat seriously enough to measure it, and how they set it up. The answer is Shopify stores. **99.9%** of the 5,993 websites with the Snap Pixel run on Shopify. Across the whole web the pixel is rare, on 0.04% of websites, fewer than one in 2,500, and the Meta Pixel is 399 times as common. For Shopify stores the rate is 0.82%, twenty times the web-wide rate. ## What we measured We used the public HTTP Archive crawl of September 2026, which loads the homepages of 15,470,478 websites on a mobile device and records the software each one uses. We counted every homepage that loads the Snap Pixel, checked what share of those websites run on Shopify, and split the results by website type, popularity and country domain. Online stores are websites running store platform or shopping-cart software, 3,911,812 in all, of which 729,553 run on Shopify. Popularity comes from Google's Chrome UX Report, which ranks websites by real Chrome traffic. Country figures use country-code domains such as .de or .fr. ## Almost every Snap Pixel sits on a Shopify store 99.9% of websites that load the Snap Pixel are Shopify stores. Of the 5,993 websites with the Snap Pixel, 5,985 run on Shopify. Among Shopify stores the rate is 0.82%, twenty times the web-wide rate, while WordPress websites show 0.00% and B2B websites 0.01%. That concentration points to Shopify's Snapchat app as the main way stores install the pixel: when adding it takes a few clicks, stores do it; when it takes code, almost nobody does. The websites measuring Snapchat ads are consumer brands selling online, and on the web that mostly means Shopify. ## None of the 1,000 most visited websites loads the Snap Pixel None of the 754 websites in the top 1,000 by traffic loads the Snap Pixel. The rate peaks at 0.14% among websites ranked 10,000 to 1 million and drops to 0.02% outside the top 10 million. That is the profile of small and mid-sized online brands, not large companies or media sites. The Reddit Pixel is on six times as many websites, and the Meta Pixel on 399 times as many. Among online stores the Snap Pixel reaches 0.15%, against 30.7% for the Meta Pixel, about 200 times as many. Few brands are feeding Snapchat purchase data from their own sites, so an advertiser who does has less competition for the audiences it builds there. ## What this means for online stores If your customers are teenagers and young adults, Snapchat is worth testing, and almost none of your competitors are measuring it. On Shopify, install the Snapchat app and connect the pixel before running a campaign; on any other platform, add the pixel and Snap's server-side Conversions API through your tag manager so sales still count when a browser blocks the pixel. Start with a product that sells well in short vertical video, track purchases rather than swipes, and compare Snapchat's cost per sale with Meta and TikTok on the same terms.
