SMALL BUSINESS

    Small Business Web Design

Small business website design that turns local searches into booked work.

You are deciding whether a free builder is enough or whether the site is costing you work. We review that honestly first. If a rebuild is not the right move yet, we say so before quoting.

What Our Small Business Web Design Services Include

A small business web design project should cover the pieces that bring in work: service pages, local signals, contact paths, editable details and simple reporting.

    (06)

    Getting you off the builder

Your content moves to a domain you own and the old links get redirected, so nothing you have built up gets stranded.

A page for each service and area

One page per service and per area you serve, each written to answer the search that leads to it.

Ways to reach you that work

A form that reaches your inbox, or a booking slot on your calendar, tested with a real submission before launch.

Your Google Business Profile, lined up

Hours, categories and location data set to match the site, because a profile that contradicts it costs you visibility.

    The bits you change yourself

Prices, hours, staff and photos in fields you can edit without touching the layout, each with a recording showing how.

    Where the inquiries came from

Plain reporting on which pages and searches brought work in, so your next decision is informed rather than a hunch.

    Common issues

What the current site is costing you in jobs

Six problems come up on almost every small business site we look at, and none is fixed by making the homepage prettier.

    Diagnose my site
    01

The free builder site has hit its limit

It went up fast and did its job. Now the address carries someone else's brand, you cannot add the pages the business needs, and the only things you can change are the ones that matter least.

    02

    Local customers cannot find you

People nearby are searching for what you do and reaching a competitor. Usually there is one page covering everything, no separate pages for the services or areas you serve, and no link to your Google Business Profile.

    03

    Inquiries arrive by phone only

Every job starts with a call, so anything outside working hours is gone. No form that reaches you reliably, no way to book a slot, no record of last week's inquiries.

    04

A price change means an email and a wait

Updating a price or your opening hours means going back to the original builder. So it does not get done, and the site slowly stops matching the business. That is the usual reason a site goes stale.

    05

It looks wrong on a phone

Most people who find you are on a phone, outside and in a hurry. Text set for a laptop is unreadable, the number is not tappable, and the form sits three screens down.

    06

You cannot see what is working

The site has been up two years and you could not say which page brings in work. Every decision about it is a guess, including whether to spend at all.

Our Small Business Web Design Process

    (06)
    Phase 01
    3 days

A written verdict before you spend

We look at what you have, what you are up against locally, and where your work comes from. Then you get a written answer on whether a build is worth it yet. Treat the durations on each stage as an estimate rather than a final timeline; your actual dates are agreed in the proposal.

    Phase 02
    1 week

Deciding which services and areas get pages

We list the services you want more of and the areas you cover, then turn that into the page structure. Most small business builds skip this.

    Phase 03
    1 week

Customer proof gathered before the build

Reviews, accreditations, photos of real work, insurance and guarantees, placed where a wary buyer looks. You also get a list of what is missing.

    Phase 04
    2 to 3 weeks

Built for a phone, not a laptop

A tappable number, a contact route within reach, text readable at arm's length, a page that loads on cellular. Desktop follows from that.

    Phase 05
    3 days

    Making the listings agree

Name, address, hours and categories lined up across the site, your Google Business Profile and the directories that list you. Contradictions hold you below where you should rank.

    Phase 06
    2 days

Handing over the accounts and recordings

Domain, hosting and analytics registered in your name, logins handed to you, and a recording for each task you will do yourself.

    Get started
    Missing website work

The jobs you lose are the ones you never hear about.

Someone a few streets away searches for what you do, lands on a page that covers everything at once, and calls the next firm on the list. You never find out that job existed, so it never looks like a problem worth spending on. Closing that gap is the point of small business web design, and it is what separates affordable web design services from cheap ones.

    Inquiries that arrive after hours
You can name the page that brought in last month's work
    Something you own outright

A domain you own is the difference between an asset and a tenancy.

A site on someone else's subdomain is a tenancy: the platform owns the address, the traffic history and the terms. Your own domain, accounts and portable content mean everything you build up stays yours, including if you replace us.

“I can't say enough good things about Matt Suffoletto and the team at Suff Digital. I've worked with Matt for years, and his knowledge, expertise, and professionalism are second to none. He truly understands SEO, website management, and digital marketing at a level that delivers real results. Matt helped me get my DJ business ranked on the first page and even the number one spot on Google in an industry with thousands of competing DJs. Those results had a tremendous impact on my business. Most recently, on Memorial Day, my website came under attack from internet hackers. I sent Matt an email expecting a delayed response because of the holiday, but he replied almost immediately, identified the problem, took action, and resolved the issue before it could cause further damage. If you're looking for a digital marketing and web services company that delivers results and stands behind its clients, I highly recommend Suff Digital.”

    Frequently asked questions

    Common Questions

Yes, and for a business testing an idea it is the right call. Wix, Squarespace, Weebly, WordPress.com, Google Sites and Canva all have free tiers, and a Google Business Profile will generate a basic page. Free of cost is not free of work, though: the hours go into page structure, copy that answers what people search for, photographs worth showing, and proof. The limit is the ceiling, not the quality: the platform's branding stays on the page, its name sits in your address, and you have little say in how you get found. Our guide to small business website costs covers the paid alternative.
