ChatGPT and Perplexity

    Chatgpt SEO

Answer engine optimization that gets your pages into the pool these tools read.

You rank on Google and still never appear when somebody asks ChatGPT the same question. Both tools assemble their shortlist from the Bing index, then quote whichever page states the answer plainly enough to lift. We get you into that pool. Then we rewrite the opening of each target page so the claim and its evidence sit together, and re-run your questions weekly.

What Our Chatgpt SEO Services Include

Getting quoted in a chat answer takes six pieces of work.

    (06)

    Getting into Bing's index

We open Bing Webmaster Tools and set what it holds against what Google holds. Then we fix the crawl, sitemap and indexing faults only Bing is reporting, because a page Bing never kept cannot be quoted.

    Rewriting the first paragraph

We rewrite the opening of each target page so the claim, its condition and the evidence can be lifted together. Then we test that lift ourselves before anything ships.

Pages written as answers to questions

People type a whole sentence into a chat window. So we collect the real questions and make one page responsible for each, then write it in the same plain register the question arrived in.

    Copilot measured too

We measure and target Microsoft Copilot as part of the same Bing-fed group, rather than assuming it follows whatever ChatGPT does. It moves with the other two most of the time, and occasionally it does not.

Schema a chat tool can read

Organization, FAQ, Article and Product schema written and validated, so a tool reading your page comes away with the same facts your reader does.

    Your questions, re-run every week

Every week your fixed question set goes through both tools. Then we log who got named and which page got quoted, plus how the wording moved since the last run.

    See our process
    The problem

Why the chat answer names someone else

None of these is a ranking problem, which is why your Google reporting will not show them.

    Diagnose my site
    01

    ChatGPT skips you

Ask ChatGPT the question your buyers ask and a competitor's name comes back. When it browses, it works from a shortlist of pages Bing already ranks. So a site nobody has ever checked against Bing is out of the running before the model reads a word. We look at what Bing holds for you first, then work on the pages it found.

    02

    Perplexity links elsewhere

Perplexity puts its sources on screen, numbered, beside the answer, and people click them. When your competitors sit in that list and you do not, the click goes to them at the moment somebody is deciding. It favors recent, clearly structured pages from sources it can place. So that is what we work on: recency, structure, and who else refers to you.

    03

    Bing never checked

Everything your team has measured for years is Google. Bing runs its own index, its own webmaster tools and its own view of your site, and both chat tools draw candidates from it. A site can be clean in one and half-missing in the other. We open Bing Webmaster Tools and set its coverage against Google's, then fix what only Bing is complaining about.

    04

Written for keywords, asked as questions

People type three words into Google and a whole sentence into a chat window. Your pages target the three words, so nothing on the site matches the way the question actually arrived. We collect the full questions your buyers put to these tools and make one page responsible for each. Then we write it in the register the question came in.

    05

Copilot left out of the plan

Microsoft Copilot runs on the same Bing infrastructure as ChatGPT's browsing, so it tends to move with it. Most plans never mention it at all. Reporting that covers two tools and ignores the third gives you a partial read on one body of work. We report Copilot beside ChatGPT and Perplexity, because what lifts one usually lifts all three.

    06

    Cited, and wrong

Sometimes the problem is not silence. A tool names you and then describes a service you dropped two years ago. Or it quotes a price you no longer charge, or puts you in the wrong city. That is worse than being absent, because it is confident. We log what the answers say about you rather than only whether you appeared, then go and fix the page the mistake came from.

    Methodology

    Our Chatgpt SEO Process

    (06)
    Phase 01
    Phase 1 • Weeks 1-2

Where you stand in Bing and in chat

We agree the fixed set of questions worth tracking, then run every one through ChatGPT and Perplexity. Each answer gets logged for the sources it leaned on and whether you appeared at all. We open Bing Webmaster Tools alongside it, so you can see what Bing holds for you against what Google does. Nothing on the site changes yet.

    Phase 02
    Phase 2 • Weeks 3-4

Fixing what only Bing complains about

We fix what only Bing is complaining about. Crawl errors, a sitemap it never accepted, pages it has quietly dropped, markup it parses differently from Google. This phase is usually short, and on most sites it is the one nobody has done, because Bing is not the index anybody reports on.

    Phase 03
    Phase 3 • Weeks 5-8

One page made responsible per question

Each tracked question gets one page made responsible for it. Where two of your pages both half-answer the same thing, we say which one keeps the job and which one merges into it. You get the map, the merge list and the redirects, so a page written later does not land on top of one already answering.

    Phase 04
    Phase 4 • Weeks 9-12

Rewriting the block that gets quoted

The opening of each owning page gets rewritten so the answer arrives first and the evidence sits beside it. We run the extraction test ourselves before anything publishes. This phase moves fastest, because it changes what is quotable the next time either tool reads the page rather than waiting on anyone else.

    Phase 05
    Phase 5 • Weeks 13-16

    References you did not write

We go after the mentions these tools weigh more heavily than anything you publish about yourself. Expert commentary, industry roundups, pages that describe what you do. Each placement comes back with the surrounding context. Anything you write about your own business, every competitor can write too.

    Phase 06
    Phase 6 • Ongoing

    Weekly re-runs and corrections

We re-run the question set on schedule and report it in the same shape every cycle. Who got named and which pages the tools quoted, plus whether what the answer said about you was accurate. Both tools keep changing how they choose sources, so a page left alone after one good month slides back down.

    Get started
    Where buyers now start

Plenty of buyers now ask an assistant before they open a search box.

An assistant answering a question about your category names a handful of sources and skips everyone else. There is no second page to appear on. Being one of the named sources depends on whether the model can load your page, read a clear answer near the top of it, and find other credible sources saying the same thing about you.

Pages a model can actually fetch and read, rather than an empty shell
The answer stated in the first two sentences under a matching heading
Corroboration built through coverage other people wrote
    The same work pays twice

Nothing here is separate from your search work.

Assistants retrieve from the same index a search engine uses, so the technical health, the clear answers and the earned authority that get you ranking are the same things that get you quoted. That is why this runs inside the search programme rather than beside it, and why cutting one to fund the other tends to cost you both.

One programme producing rankings and citations, not two budgets
Structure that helps a reader and an assistant read the same way
Tracking that reports both, so a shift between them is visible

“I can't say enough good things about Matt Suffoletto and the team at Suff Digital. I've worked with Matt for years, and his knowledge, expertise, and professionalism are second to none. He truly understands SEO, website management, and digital marketing at a level that delivers real results. Matt helped me get my DJ business ranked on the first page and even the number one spot on Google in an industry with thousands of competing DJs. Those results had a tremendous impact on my business. Most recently, on Memorial Day, my website came under attack from internet hackers. I sent Matt an email expecting a delayed response because of the holiday, but he replied almost immediately, identified the problem, took action, and resolved the issue before it could cause further damage. If you're looking for a digital marketing and web services company that delivers results and stands behind its clients, I highly recommend Suff Digital.”

    Chatgpt SEO Deliverables

Scope in writing before you sign, so there is never a question about what the retainer covers.

    Month One
    Audit & Strategy
The questions, and who gets named today — The fixed questions we will track, run through both tools before anything on your site changes. So you see the sources each answer used and whether you were among them.
What Bing holds against what Google holds — Your site as Bing has it, set beside your site as Google has it, with the crawl, sitemap and indexing faults only Bing is reporting.
Each question assigned to one page — Every tracked question given one page to answer it. Then the merges and redirects needed so two of your own pages stop half-answering the same thing.
The sites these tools keep quoting — Which sites these two tools keep drawing on in your category, and which of your competitors sit among them. Then what those pages do that yours does not.
    Months 2-3
    Optimization
What each page's opening has to carry — Page by page, what the opening has to say and what evidence sits beside the claim. Then how to arrange it so one block can be lifted whole.
The Bing fixes ready to implement — The crawl, sitemap, schema and indexing work Bing specifically needs, written so we can make the change or your release owner can approve it.
The questions to answer, in order — The whole questions buyers put to a chat window, in the order worth answering them, with the page responsible for each one named.
Schema written for your templates — Organization, FAQ, Article and Product schema written for your pages, then validated one template at a time. So a tool reading the page takes away what you meant.
    Ongoing
    Monitoring
The weekly log of every run — Each scheduled run recorded in the same shape: the question, the tool, the sites cited, which of your pages got quoted.
Named against competitors — How often each tracked question names you set against how often it names each competitor you asked us to watch.
Whether the answer got you right — What these tools actually say about your business, checked for whether it is correct and current. That matters because a confident wrong answer costs you more than silence does.
Monthly chat visibility report — How the month moved and what we changed to move it, plus the corrections still outstanding and which questions are worth going after next.

    Compare Chatgpt SEO Services

Bing is the door both tools come through: ChatGPT's browsing and Perplexity's retrieval both lean on it to assemble candidates, so a page Bing has not indexed cleanly is out of the running whatever it does on Google. The change that earns a citation is usually about forty words long, with the claim, the condition attached to it and the evidence in one block that can be lifted without distorting your meaning. And none of it trades your Google position away, because clean indexing, an answer near the top and markup that parses are things Google already rewards.

    Frequently asked questions

    Common Questions

When it browses, it draws candidates from Bing's index. Then it weighs how authoritative the publisher looks and how clearly the page is laid out. Recency and how well the page matches the question count too. You control two of those levers. Rank on Bing, and lay the page out so an answer can be lifted from it. That means a short definition, descriptive headings, passages that hold together on their own.
