    Why Suff Digital

BigCommerce replatforming run by a team that tells you the limits first.

A BigCommerce migration works when the catalog, price lists and sales channels are tested before the build gets expensive. We surface those limits early, recommend the cleanest route and move the store with launch checks tied to real orders.

What Our BigCommerce Migration Services Include

Six things a move onto BigCommerce has to get right. Miss one and a wholesale customer pays retail on their first order.

    (06)

Wholesale prices your customers actually get

Trade tiers, negotiated rates and volume breaks rebuilt in BigCommerce's price list model, then checked against real order history.

Your catalog tested against the option limits

Your real option and variant structure run against the platform ceilings before import, with a restructuring decision for anything that overflows.

Marketplace and social listings that keep working

Every channel re-keyed to the new product IDs and checked as genuinely updating, because connected and updating are not the same.

Your highest-traffic category addresses mapped by hand

One-to-one mapping wherever traffic or links exist, with pattern rules kept for the long tail where a wrong guess costs nothing.

The blog, guides and everything outside the store

Content held in a separate system counted alongside the catalog, so nothing that earns traffic falls outside the scope.

Tracking rebuilt and proved with real orders

Analytics, conversion tracking and ad platform tags rebuilt on the new templates, then confirmed firing with live test orders.

    Problems we solve

    BigCommerce migration trouble points

These are the failures that cost money when a store moves onto BigCommerce and the catalog is not tested first.

    Diagnose my site
    01

    Wholesale customers see retail prices

Trade tiers, negotiated rates and volume breaks work differently on every platform, so they rarely come across as data. Rebuild them from an incomplete spreadsheet and some accounts pay retail on their first order after the move. That failure shows up least in testing.

    02

Your products do not fit the option limits

BigCommerce caps how many options and variants a product can carry, and configurable products often exceed it. The overflow has to become separate products or modifiers. Import totals still add up, so the constraint surfaces during testing rather than planning, when the URL map has to change too.

    03

The category pages that bring you traffic disappear

Filtered category addresses, the ones built from brand, size or material, are often what rank. BigCommerce builds its own category paths from your catalog tree, so those combinations have no automatic equivalent. Mapped by pattern, your best category pages land on nothing.

    04

Everything that syncs with the store stops updating

Marketplaces, shopping feeds, your accounting system and your warehouse software all key off the old store's product IDs. After the move they either stop updating or point at addresses that no longer work, and none of it raises an alert.

    05

The blog and buying guides get left behind

The content that earns links and rankings often sits in a separate system rather than in the store. Draw the scope around commerce data and the blog stays behind, along with the guides bringing in people who had never heard of you.

    06

Sales reports look like a crash when nothing crashed

The new storefront fires different tracking events from different templates, so your analytics stop attributing while orders keep arriving. Revenue appears to fall, and marketing decisions get made on that number for weeks before anybody checks the tracking.

    Our BigCommerce Migration Process

    (06)
    Phase 01
    Week 1

We map your pricing, options and connections

We inventory products, the option and variant structure, price lists and customer groups, plus every system connected to the store. Alongside that we crawl the storefront for what is actually indexed. Treat the week ranges on these steps as an estimate. The dates we commit to are the ones written into your proposal.

    Phase 02
    Weeks 1 to 2

We test the catalog and rebuild your price lists

Your option model runs against BigCommerce's ceilings, and anything that overflows gets a restructuring decision. We rebuild price lists and customer groups, then check them against real order history.

    Phase 03
    Weeks 2 to 5

We build the storefront and write the URL map

Storefront and catalog go onto a sandbox store, imported in batches with a check after each. Addresses carrying traffic or links get a destination each, and the long tail gets rules. We compare the sandbox with your live site.

    Phase 04
    Week 5

We test real orders on every channel you sell through

Payment, tax and shipping get set and frozen, then live orders run end to end including a refund. We confirm each marketplace, feed and connected system is receiving the new product data rather than showing as connected.

    Phase 05
    Launch day

We hold orders briefly and move the store

A short order hold opens at an hour taken from your own trading pattern. Redirects go live, the domain switches, and we watch checkout, order flow and the channel feeds throughout.

    Phase 06
    Weeks 6 to 9

We track storefront and channel sales separately

Orders, channel sales, visits and search coverage compared weekly with the numbers from before the move. Channels get watched on their own, because a stale marketplace listing causes a decline storefront analytics never shows.

    Get started
    The traffic you already have

Your category pages are what rank. BigCommerce rebuilds every one of their addresses.

BigCommerce generates its own paths from your catalog tree, so the whole indexed store changes at once. Two sets of pages decide whether anyone notices: the categories bringing in people who have not heard of you, and the product pages other sites link to. Both get settled before the build.

Addresses with real traffic or links mapped one by one, not by pattern rule
The blog, guides and comparison pages counted inside the project, not outside
Search coverage and visits compared weekly with a baseline taken beforehand
Where we stand on the risks

What a BigCommerce migration puts at risk, and the position we take on each.

If the order hold breaches the limits we agreed beforehand, we revert to your previous store using the rollback we ran in rehearsal. The call is yours.

Rankings. Category addresses mapped by pattern rather than one by one land on nothing
Wholesale relationships. Rebuilt price lists are checked against real orders before any account sees them
Channel revenue. A stale marketplace listing fails silently, so each one is proved to be updating
Your history. Order history, customer groups and tracking restart at zero unless carried deliberately

“I can't say enough good things about Matt Suffoletto and the team at Suff Digital. I've worked with Matt for years, and his knowledge, expertise, and professionalism are second to none. He truly understands SEO, website management, and digital marketing at a level that delivers real results. Matt helped me get my DJ business ranked on the first page and even the number one spot on Google in an industry with thousands of competing DJs. Those results had a tremendous impact on my business. Most recently, on Memorial Day, my website came under attack from internet hackers. I sent Matt an email expecting a delayed response because of the holiday, but he replied almost immediately, identified the problem, took action, and resolved the issue before it could cause further damage. If you're looking for a digital marketing and web services company that delivers results and stands behind its clients, I highly recommend Suff Digital.”

    BigCommerce Migration Deliverables

What comes across from your old platform, what you get before the build, and how we prove it worked.

    Month One
    What comes across
Coming from Shopify — When you migrate from Shopify to BigCommerce, the catalog, customers and order records port cleanly. Content held inside apps does not.
Coming from WooCommerce — A WooCommerce to BigCommerce migration brings catalog and customer data across. Plugin-held fields, custom tables and subscription authorisations stay behind.
Coming from Magento — A Magento to BigCommerce migration brings catalog and customers across. Attribute sets flatten into option sets, and store views become channels or separate storefronts.
Coming from a custom or legacy platform — We build the extraction rather than export it, usually straight from the database. What comes across depends on how far your data model normalises.
    Months 2-3
    Pre-build migration plan
The catalog fit report — Your real catalog run against BigCommerce's option and variant ceilings, with a restructuring decision for anything that overflows.
Your rebuilt price lists — Customer groups and negotiated pricing rebuilt, then checked line by line against what those accounts actually paid.
The URL map — One destination for every address carrying traffic or links, with pattern rules reserved for the long tail.
    Ongoing
    How we prove it landed
Sales channel sync checks — Each marketplace, feed and connected system with its new ID mapping and the evidence it is receiving current data.
Live order and refund tests — Payment, tax and shipping proved with real orders end to end before any traffic moves.
Storefront and channel sales, tracked apart — Storefront and channel orders, visits and search coverage against the pre-move numbers, with a cause named for every gap.

    Common Questions

Yes, in the sense that matters to you: it is still actively developed and still has a working partner and app ecosystem around it. We will not quote market share numbers we cannot stand behind, because platform figures go stale fast. The useful question is whether its catalog limits fit your store.
